3:30pm Film Hit and Stay: This award-winning documentary tells the inspiring story of a group of radical priests, nuns and everyday people who risked prison by breaking into draft boards, destroying draft records, and then waiting around to be arrested. Their actions inspired a movement and helped bring an end to the draft. Milwaukee was the site of a raid on the Selective Service offices by the Milwaukee 14 on September 24, 1968.
7-10pm A Folk and Protest Music Concert including songs of 60's and Today. The Coffee House at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 1905 W. Wisconsin. Parking in back of Church and on Street" (the entrance is in front of the church on the circle drive). 10am Memorial Service and Call to Action at 12th and Wisconsin Avenue. The theme will be both a commemoration of the Vietnam war protest and the original draft file burning, and also a pledge to work against the seven USA wars today and the ways military recruitment infiltrates our educational institutions from middle school through college.
